Experience the Transformative Benefits of Facial Sculpting with IntraOral Massage

At Lymphworks, we offer a unique blend of natural beauty and holistic wellness with our facial sculpting and intraoral massage, otherwise known as buccal massage. Facial sculpting is a specialized technique that combines the principles of artistry and anatomy to shape and contour the facial features, enhancing symmetry, definition, and overall aesthetic appeal. This massage is unique in that it entails working not only on the outside of the face but also on the inside through the oral (buccal) cavity with targeted pressure and techniques.  This allows to reach deeper layers of muscle tissue resulting in the natural face-lift effect without surgery. Combined with Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (both in and outside of the mouth), it can shift the inflammation, and circulation of ones face, neck, head, & chest. The goal of facial sculpting with intraoral massage is to preserve beauty, function, health and radiance of one’s skin and facial features.

Benefits of Facial Sculpting with Buccal Massage

Facial sculpting with intraoral massage offers a multitude of benefits that extend beyond traditional skincare and cosmetic treatments, including:

1. Enhanced Definition: By sculpting the contours of the face, it is possible to enhance the natural definition of key features, such as the cheekbones, jawline, and chin, providing a refined and sculpted look.  The lifting and toning of the facial muscles and fat pads can reduce the appearance of sagging skin and support a more lifted and youthful profile.

2. Improved Circulation: The targeted techniques utilized in facial sculpting and intraoral massage can stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage, promoting improved circulation and delivering essential nutrients to the skin for enhanced vitality and radiance.  Please note that this technique is so effective at improving circulation that clients may have skin detox for a few days and are asked to keep consistent with their cleansing and moisturizing home care routine.

3. Improved Sinus Health:  Our buccal massage techniques help alleviate congestion, improving sinus health and providing relief for individuals suffering from sinus-related issues. This treatment can be especially beneficial for those experiencing chronic sinus discomfort, promoting clearer breathing and increased comfort.

4. Enhancing Overall Relaxation and well-being:  Experience profound relaxation through gentle, precise intraoral massage. Our techniques target key areas within the mouth to release tension, helping you achieve a deep state of relaxation. This not only contributes to improved energy flow of all the meridian channels of the upper body, it aids in and stress reduction.  Many clients fall asleep during the process of receiving this work.

5. Addressing TMJD and Headaches:  Intraoral massage plays a crucial role in addressing temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJD) and headaches by focusing on muscular tension and improving the balance and function of the jaw and surrounding structures. This therapeutic approach can greatly reduce tension, headeaches, facial pain and discomfort.

6. Reduces swelling in the head, face, neck and decolletage: The combination of techniques deeply clear lymphatic stagnation and dark circles under the eyes.

Other potential benefits of facial sculpting with intraoral massage:

  • Opens and realigns fascia (connective tissue).  Including releasing downward tension pulls on the neck and jaw along with other fascial patterns making the face age more quickly.  Improves facial muscle and facia range of motion.
  • Improves muscle tone
  • Reduces appearance of wrinkles along with skin's texture, tone, and color
  • May enhance symmetry between the sides of the face
  • Reduces scar appearances and improves function after facial surgical procedures
  • Reduces ear, eye, sinus, and mouth congestion and imbalances associated with them such as tinnitus
  • Temporarily improves the skin’s absorption of products and serums

Precautions and Considerations for Facial Sculpting with Intraoral massage

While facial sculpting with intraoral massage is generally safe for most individuals, it's important to consider certain contraindications and discuss with your therapist beforehand.

Any botox or fillers:  The general rule of thumb is a minimum of 2 weeks before cupping or, sculpting after botox or filler.  Please discuss with your injector first and also be aware that applying cupping or sculpting to an injection site will increase circulation and therefore, metabolize drugs and debris out of the area more quickly. When placed well, filler will likely not migrate but this may be a concern to discuss with your injector.

Scars in the area less than 6 weeks old:  Scars mature around 6 weeks and this is the time when we know they are no longer a risk of being re-opened.  Please do not schedule facial sculpting until this time or discuss modification if you are recovering from surgical procedure and need drainage.

Active severe or Cystic facial acne: While the therapist can avoid a small area of active breakout, please consider postponing your session until the risk of spreading bacteria has been reduced.

Open facial wound, burn, or lesion, active migraine, acute infection or fever (first 24 to 48 hours) or skin infection in area, active herpes or cold or canker sores are all situations in where facial sculpting will be avoided.
